Connie is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She has experience in providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families. Connie has helped clients with a variety of issues such as low self-esteem, depression, stress, anxiety, grief, divorce and trauma, as well as couples’ issues such as communication, conflict resolution and infidelity. Her specialized training in family systems enables her to understand the dynamics in relationships and how each family member affects one another and Connie has a particular passion for working with couples of all types.
Connie’s therapeutic approach is to help clients to learn to find happiness and life satisfaction. Sometimes that means helping them make a change, sometimes that means helping them to accept things as they are, but most often is a combination of both change and acceptance. Connie believes everyone has unique gifts, skills and strengths and she works to help each client recognize and draw on them. Connie uses a balance of cognitive behavioral, solution focused, mindfulness, Gottman and emotion-focused techniques, depending on the needs and preferences of the client.
Connie has developed and presented workshops for couples, creative writing groups for women of domestic violence and support groups for adult survivors of childhood abuse. She is also a Prepare and Enrich facilitator, a program that helps engaged couples identify their strengths and growth areas and become more prepared for marriage.
